Principal's Message

I, on behalf of Doomdooma college family, welcome you to the website of this premier institution of higher education. Established in 1967 through the pioneering efforts of a team of visionaries led by Late Jogendra Nath Deka, Doomdooma College, cradled in the lap of nature laced with tea gardens and forests, is a leading institution affiliated to Dibrugarh University and recognized by the University Grants Commission. Right from its inception, the College has held the pride in disseminating knowledge and skills to the learners of this culturally vibrant area which comprises of different ethnic groups.

Until 2020, the College was the only institution of higher education in a large area, a fact which results in its high enrollment. Keeping with the rising interest in our under-graduate programmes coupled with the emerging global trends towards the market-driven educational system, the College has introduced various professional and career-oriented courses.

The College has Higher Secondary and Degree sections in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams. In the under-graduate programmes, CBCS was implemented in 2019 and NEP in 2023. The study centers of Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU) and Dibrugarh University Open and Distance Learning (DODL) offer various post-graduate, under-graduate, and career-oriented programmes.

The College is committed to its vision and mission in all its endeavors and seeks to materialize into reality the great concept of accomplishment through knowledge “Gyane Parisamapyate.” Accomplishment however requires more than academic excellence. Today’s world is highly competitive and demanding and so our students need to excel in extra-curricular activities which will equip them with the required skills to go that extra mile.

The College attempts to synergize this into the teaching-learning system which is made vibrant and effective with a well-equipped central library, sports complex, laboratories, and other infrastructural assets. The College intends to fulfill its social obligations through the activities of its vibrant NSS and NCC units.

I take the opportunity to thank all our stakeholders, especially our parents, who have unconditionally trusted us. We promise an academic environment which is conducive to learning and achievement, for all our students. We take it as our pledge to nurture today’s youth to face tomorrow’s challenges.
